Email Forwarding - WebMail - Mobile Email SMTP
Not sure what about the terminology used with email? Read on, and we'll explain in easy to understand detail.
And remember, your email address account with us is completely ad free!
BTW, as you've probably seen or no doubt heard some people refer to an email address as an "individual email address", a "personal email address", a "custom email address", a "personalized email address", a "business email address", or a "team email address". HOWEVER WE DO SO ONLY BECAUSE PEOPLE REFER TO EMAIL ACCOUNTS OR EMAIL ADDRESSES BY THESE DIFFERENT DESCRIPTIVE TERMS. In actuality, we provide essentially the same features for both our Individual and Team professional email addresses regardless if they're referred to as any of those.
Why do I need to register a domain name to have a business or personal email address?
A domain name is what makes your email address uniquely yours, and yours alone. When you register your dotCom domain name (or .Net, .Org, .US, .Biz, or whatever) it's the @YourDomainName part of your email address. Since each and every domain name must be unique, once you register yours, it's yours alone to use. Here's a link to info on how to create your domain name.
email addresses are very flexible:
- you can send and receive email messages with your favorite email client (program) such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc
- you can send and receive email by Webmail - our internet based email app where you use your internet web browser to send and receive your messages from any computer or mobile device connected to the internet from anywhere
- you can send and receive email via your cell phone or tablet equipped with internet access using our Mobile Email app, which is a slimmed down version of our Webmail app.
- you can set your email account to store messages
- you can set your email account to forward messages to another email address
- you can set your email account as a "catch-all" which will receive any email sent to "anyname"@YourDomainName
- you can even set-up an auto-responder which automatically sends a standard reply message you create (like: "I'm on vacation. I'll reply when I return next week.") in response to all incoming messages
Webmail
The Webmail app uses your internet browser and lets you send and receive your email from any computer, tablet or cell phone anytime, anywhere you have access to the internet.
If you're familiar with using AOL email, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Google Gmail or any similiar web-based email program, you already know how our Webmail app functions. You send and receive email, create folders and manage your email on our server similar to the email systems at AOL email, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Google Gmail, etc., but our Webmail uses You@YourDomainName. - you know, like John@TheSmiths.com or Sales@MyCompany.com; and, it's totally ad free.
To access the Webmail app, use your internet browser and go to https://Email.YourDomainName. You then login using your email address and password.
Mobile Email - Cell Phone or Tablet Email Access
Basically, Mobile Email is a "slimmed down" version of our Webmail app. You can use either one of them with your cell phone or tablet equipped with internet access to send and receive your email from anywhere your cell phone or tablet can connect to the internet. Again, no ads!
You access your email account via Mobile Email by using your internet enable cell phone or tablet and going to https://mobilemail.YourDomainName. You then login using your email address and password.
Your ISP (internet service provider) has undoubtably provided you with a mailbox with an address something like YourUserName@YourISPName.com (like johnsmith394@aol.com). If you have an email account with us, you can replace your ISP mailbox with one called You@YourDomainName -- like JohnSmith@TheSmithFamily.com. Of course if you want to, you can continue to use your old ISP mailbox as well.
SMTP Outgoing Email Server
You send your outgoing email messages using our SMTP relaying servers; and your messages will show you@YourDomainName email address as the "Reply To" address.
IMAP Email
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It is a method of accessing email messages on a mail server without having to download them to your local hard drive. Your email is coordinated across all your devices. Download, delete, file, draft, etc... what you do on one of your devices is mirrored on all of them... your cell phone, your tablet, your laptop, your desktop.
Email Forwarding
Email forwarding instantaneously and transparently sends messages addressed to an email address such as Sales@YourDomainName to any existing email address you specify such as You@YourDomainName.
Set up an email account with us and you can also set up forwarding addresses that use your domain name - FREE, and with no ads!. Send them all to the same existing email address or send each one to a different existing email address. Create personalized email addresses for family members, friends, business associates, colleagues, etc. Add, delete, or change your email addresses easily at any time using your personal online control panel.
Here are some examples of email forwarding:

- forward mail addressed to MaryJones@egmail.com to MaryJones@YourDomainName

Email Auto-Responder
An auto-responder automatically sends a standard reply message that you create - example: "I'm on vacation. I'll reply when I return next week." - in response to all incoming messages.
Virus Protection System
All email accounts include our state-of-the-art Virus Protection system which automatically blocks infected email attachments that may damage your computer with destructive viruses. Virus scanning occurs every time our servers receive an incoming attachment. Virus Protection is in place for all our professional email plans.
Spam Filter
Another integrated feature of email accounts is a spam filter, a service that screens incoming mail at the server level. Through the web-based email interface you can train the filter, thus gradually improving the filter's ability to detect incoming bulk mail.
